A Message from the Executive Director

Dear Supporter,

If navigating the pandemic over the past couple of years has taught us anything, it’s that we must look at ways to do things differently. From education to the workplace, and even in our communities, we have found ourselves learning new ways to re-engage and re-invest.

At Seattle CityClub, we are taking this to heart going in to 2023. With accessibility top of mind, I’m excited for the programs and events being planned, as well as how we will engage with in-person and virtual audiences.

 2023 Legislative Preview

I’m happy to share that our Legislative Preview is coming back as a hybrid event on Friday, January 6th at The Collective Seattle.  This breakfast event will be the first one we’ve had with an in-person element since 2020. You can RSVP for the event by clicking here.

We look forward to welcoming past attendees back for what should be a lively and informative discussion featuring:

  • Speaker of the House Laurie Jinkins (D)
  • House Republican Leader J.T. Wilcox (R)
  • Senate Republican Leader John Braun (R)
  • Senate Deputy Majority Leader Manka Dhingra (D)

Our Moderators

  • Drew Mikkelsen, KING 5 News South Bureau Chief
  • Angela King, Journalist & News Host, KUOW

A New Home for Civic Cocktail

Seattle CityClub has partnered with The Collective Seattle as our host location for Civic Cocktail. This fun, creative space will help set the tone for re-engaging our existing audiences and inviting new ones in a hybrid setting. We will also feature guest moderators, according to the topics being discussed. Our eight (8) Civic Cocktails will be held the first Wednesday evening of the month (except January, July, August, and December) at 6:30 pm, so please save the dates!

Welcome Back, Civic Boot Camp!

We are planning Civic Boot Camps for 2023. Civic Boot Camps address the historical and current context of local and regional issues such as racial justice, homelessness, climate change, economic equity, healthcare, immigration and civil rights. Again, with accessibility being top of mind, one of the boot camps will be virtual only.

Customized Civic Field Trip

With remote work and non-tradition work schedules, we recognize that civic engagement cannot be “one size fits all”.  Civic Field Trips tailor an experience that fits best for your team(s). Feel free to reach out to me for more information.

I hope you will join us in the coming year.
