Press Release: Seattle CityClub Selected to Host Public Forum for Seattle City Council Vacancy

Seattle, WA – Tuesday, January 16, 2024 – Seattle CityClub, a trailblazing civic nonprofit dedicated to fostering civic engagement, has been chosen to host the highly anticipated public forum for the Seattle City Council Position 8 vacancy. This event is scheduled for Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Bertha Knight Landes Room on Floor 1 at City Hall.

We are excited about facilitating meaningful interactions between community members and the council candidates as they play a crucial role in selecting Seattle’s next city council member,” says Alicia Crank, Seattle CityClub’s executive director.

Seattle CityClub, with its over 40-year legacy of creating impactful programs to engage voters and hold elected officials accountable, is honored to facilitate this critical dialogue within the community. As a leader in civic initiatives, the organization is committed to providing a platform for open discussions that empower residents and contribute to the vibrancy of our city.


The public forum will be broadcast live on the Seattle Channel and live-streamed on their YouTube channel.

The public can expect an insightful and transparent discussion as Seattle CityClub continues its mission of fostering informed and active civic participation. The eight candidates for Position 8 are:

Seattle CityClub is seeking language translation volunteers for the Tier 1 languages as identified by the City for the forum: Traditional Chinese, Spanish, Vietnamese, Somali, Amharic, Korean, and Tagalog.
